Accessibility statement

A family archive that the oldest member of the family cannot use has failed at its one job. Accessibility is not a compliance checkbox for Moments; it is the product working.

Our commitment

Moments aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA across this website and the Moments app, in line with the European Accessibility Act. We treat AA as the working target for every new screen, not a retrofit.

What is in place

  • Elder Mode: a built-in comfort mode with larger type, higher contrast and simplified screens, designed with and for older users.
  • Colour contrast: text and interface colours are chosen to meet AA contrast ratios in every mode, light and dark.
  • Visible focus: every interactive element shows a clear focus outline for keyboard users.
  • Reduced motion: the site and app respect the system "reduce motion" preference.
  • Semantic structure: real headings, landmarks, labels and alt text, so screen readers get the same site everyone else does.
  • Keyboard access: the website works without a mouse, including a skip-to-content link on every page.
  • No time pressure: nothing in Moments expires, times out mid-story or rushes the person talking.

Known limitations

Moments is in a pilot phase and some app screens are still under accessibility review, including parts of the family tree visualisation, which is inherently graphical. Where a screen falls short of AA today, it is on a list with a date, and the list is shrinking.

Feedback, and an actual reply

If anything on this site or in the app is hard to use with your eyes, ears, hands or assistive technology, tell us: info@myfamilylegacy.ai. A person reads these and replies within five working days. Accessibility reports go straight into the development queue, not a suggestion box.

Enforcement

If you are in the European Union and believe we have not met our obligations, you can also contact the market surveillance authority responsible for the European Accessibility Act in your member state.
